HisabKitab ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services. Please read this policy carefully.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a) Account Information

Name — used to personalize your experience.
Email address — used for account creation, login, and communication.
Profile photo (if you sign in with Google) — displayed in your profile.

b) Financial Data (User-Generated)

Transaction records — credits, debits, and expense entries you manually add.
Contact/person names associated with transactions.
Notes or descriptions attached to entries.
Daily expense logs.

⚠️ We do not have access to your bank accounts, UPI, or any payment service. All financial data is entered manually by you.

c) Device & Technical Information

Device type, operating system version.
App version and crash/error logs (for debugging purposes only).
Push notification tokens (for sending reminders).

2. App Permissions We Request

HisabKitab requests the following Android permissions and uses them only for the stated purposes:

`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	To send you daily reminders and transaction alerts.
`RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`	To reschedule notification alarms after your device restarts.
`SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM`	To deliver reminders at your scheduled time precisely.
`VIBRATE`	To vibrate the device along with notification alerts.
`INTERNET`	To sync your data with our servers and enable login.
`READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`	To allow you to export or import data files (e.g., PDF/CSV reports).
`USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT`	To allow biometric authentication (fingerprint/face unlock) for app security.
`RECORD_AUDIO`	For voice-input features (if used). No audio is stored or transmitted.

We only use each permission for the purpose stated above. We do not use any permission to collect data beyond what is necessary for the stated function.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To display your transaction history, balances, and ledgers.
To send you scheduled notifications and reminders.
To debug issues and improve app stability (crash reports).
To respond to your support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to any third party.

4. Google Sign-In

HisabKitab offers sign-in via Google. When you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google as part of the authentication process. We do not receive your Google password. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We use trusted infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting/database services) strictly to operate the app. They are bound by confidentiality agreements.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of HisabKitab, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, all your personal and financial data will be permanently deleted within 7–14 business days.

Crash logs and anonymized technical data may be retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure storage, and access controls to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential and to use the biometric lock feature available in the app for added protection.

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: You can view all your data directly within the app.
Correction: You can edit or update your information from the app settings.
Deletion: You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. See our Account Deletion page.
Notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time from your device settings.

9. Children's Privacy

HisabKitab is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete such information promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
